 A Note
from the editor
As I write this little editorial passage, I’m hunkered down inside with a huge mug of tea whilst rain lashes the windows - thank goodness for the Great British Summer eh? Ever the optimist though, I’m thinking of this deluge as a little bonus for the garden - which is going bonkers by the way - ahead of a summer scorcher. At the very least I’m hoping I can turn my central heating off!
Our high summer issue is always a lovely one to put together, with lots of tasty recipes, stacks of home inspiration and some rather enviable travel destinations. If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know we always interview top calibre chefs and this edition is no exception. We chatted to the ‘Yummy Brummie’ himself Michelin starred chef Glynn Purnell - his effervescent and playful nature matched by the quality and personality of his cooking. We were lucky enough to snap up some recipes from him too.
On the travel front we have two outstanding destinations - a whirlwind visit to Singapore and Sentosa island and a classic all-American road trip taking in the delights of Northern California - with just enough of that glorious travel photography to have you Googling flights in no time!
In the home section we have turned our gaze to the powerhouse rooms - the kitchen and the bathroom. These are some of the most important rooms in any home, so we are looking at design features, trends and easy updates to make sure you love the space you live in - after all, these are the rooms that take the most traffic!
All that is alongside the usual dose of what’s on to keep the family entertained with the summer holidays on the horizon! We will be back in September with more family fun, our big back to school guide, harvest festival celebrations, bountiful recipes and travel to Mexico. Adios!
