                Not the Plastic Fantastic
Documentaries such as those by David Attenborough, as well as the BBC’s ‘Drowning in Plastic’ and more recently Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Anita Rani’s ‘War on Plastic’ have done much to highlight the unnecessary and irresponsible use of plastic in society today...
Who on earth thought that a burger would turn into a happier experience by adding a plastic toy? Not the environment for starters.
Plastic has been given a bad name, mainly due to its irresponsible use. However, some elements of modern life have been much improved by the use of plastic; especially when you consider its use in modern medicine so there is a balance
to be struck, as with most things in life.
School children not only are more aware of their own
environmental impact but also are making their voices heard and are trying hard to make a difference for the future and we are trying to add to the good, rather than the bad, news.
Whilst not entirely plastic free, The Toy Tree aims to cater for those who prefer wooden and traditional toys that will last to be passed on to siblings and younger cousins and hopefully the next generation.
Visit The Toy Tree and its sister shop SMARTY PANTS to see the full range of traditional and modern toys, as well as an extensive selection of quality nearly new children’s clothes with sizes from newborn to teenagers.

SMARTY PANTS is a clever little idea to assist in the sale of nearly new children’s clothes...
Most of us have bought a pretty dress or smart shirt for a child to attend a wedding or family function and found that despite best intentions this item is only worn once!
Smarty Pants can help...
Bring your quality children’s clothes to SMARTY PANTS and sell them to other like-minded individuals whose small people are just a bit smaller than yours. At the same time there are bargains to be had from those who have small people just a little bigger than yours and have outgrown lots of lovely clothes. SMARTY PANTS splits all proceeds from sales 50:50.
When is SMARTY PANTS open?
The shop is open on Tuesdays and Fridays between 9am and 1pm or by appointment.
Email: smartypants@thetoytree.co.uk or call 01380 860 096 during opening hours for an appointment.
